Is It better to Extend domain registrations for multiple years?

I’m at a crossroads with my domain name renewals and would greatly appreciate your input. When it comes to renewing domain names, should I opt for multiple years in advance, or is it better to renew on an annual basis? I ask this because I received email from my domain provider that they are increasing price for domain renewal
