For me, if I were starting over, I’d definitely spend more time upfront on optimizing for scalability. Initially, I underestimated how much video storage and bandwidth we’d actually need. I’d probably go with a cloud-based solution from day one, like AWS or Cloudflare Stream, instead of trying to host everything myself. I’d also prioritize mobile optimization and video compression much earlier, because most viewers turned out to be on mobile devices, and slow loading times cost us a lot of engagement in those early months. Finally, I’d choose a more streamlined content management system, something headless or API-driven to keep things lightweight, flexible, and easier to manage in the long run.
